That AI support exploit (20k+ Insta accounts). How do I make sure mine's not next?

Been reading about that flaw in Meta's AI support flow that people used to take over Instagram accounts. Mine's still alive (touch wood) but after a week of reading this board I'm paranoid. What's the actual checklist?

  1. Dunno if 2FA would have stopped that particular one tbh, nobody outside Meta really knows how it worked. But the basics still apply: - 2FA with an authenticator app (not SMS if you can avoid it) - save the backup codes somewhere offline - secure the email on the account with its own 2FA - Download Your Information every few months so you have a copy if the worst happens

  2. And never send anyone a 6 digit code, even if it looks like your best mate asking. That's how my aunty lost hers.
