Appealed my brother's account from my phone and now MINE is disabled for 'associated with another account'

My little brother (22) got banned last month. He doesn't have a smartphone right now so I logged into his account on my phone to do his appeal. A few days later my Instagram is gone: your account may be associated with another account that doesn't follow our rules. I was literally just trying to help him. Now we're both out. Do I mention in my appeal that I logged in for him? Feels like I'd be admitting something.

  1. This happens a lot. Same device = linked as far as thier system is concerned. I'd be honest and keep it simple: you logged in once on your phone to submit a family member's appeal, you're two different people, here's your own info. And don't make a new account in the meantime, it'll get linked too.

  2. Same thing with my wife and me. Hers came back after 3 weeks, mine 2 days after that. No idea if that's typical.

  3. OK. Wrote it honestly. Waiting. Lesson learned, never logging into anyone's anything ever again
