Account Ban Help

Account integrity ban after I appealed for my brother's account from my phone. Is that a thing??

My younger brother's insta got disabled last month (he says he didn't do anything, I believe him mostly lol). He doesn't have a smartphone right now so I logged into his account from my phone to submit his appeal. Two days later MY account is disabled: 'Your account may be associated with another account that doesn't follow our Community Standards.' So now both of us are gone. 8 years of my stuff is there and my small home baking orders come through DM. Is this because of logging in from the same phone? Should I mention in my appeal that I was only helping my brother, or will that make it worse?

  1. Yes, it's a known pattern unfortunately. Same device = 'linked' in their system. I'd be honest and brief in the appeal: it's my own account, I logged in to my brother's account once from my phone to help him appeal, nothing else. And don't wait for his result, your own deadline is running.
  2. If the in-app review fails, you can go to the Grievance Officer and then the GAC like I wrote in another thread here. Keep screenshots of both notices since your case is tied to his.
  3. Just to share, my GAC appeal from February: they directed Meta to look at it again, and my account came back in May. I don't know for sure if it was because of the GAC or not, but don't lose hope bhai.
