Account Ban Help

[UPDATE] Teacher with the CSE ban: I got it back. No idea why.

Some of you might remember my post from November (2nd grade teacher, disabled for 'child sexual exploitation', permanently disabled 10 min after I appealed). This afternoon I opened Instagram out of habit, I never deleted the app, and it just... loaded. Feed, my photos, DMs, everything. No email, no notification, nothing saying they made a mistake. About 10 weeks. Honest list of what I did, because I know I would have wanted this list: - Appealed in the app once (rejected in minutes) - Screenshots + a dated log of everything - Complaint to my state AG and an FTC report (only ever got automated receipts) - Emailed a consumer reporter at a local TV station (no reply) - Signed the petition - Did NOT make a new account, did NOT pay anyone, did NOT keep resubmitting I genuinely don't know which, if any, of these did it. It might have been nothing and someone just reviewed a batch. So please don't read this as 'do X and it works'. What I did right after: downloaded all my data, turned on 2FA with an authenticator app, and archived most of the photos of my kids. Which makes me sad but here we are. To everyone still waiting, especially with the CSE reason: I know how heavy it feels. It is not a judgement on you as a person. Hang in there.

  2. congrats!! did you ever get an email at all, even after?
    1. @sunflowerlane nothing at all. Account Status just says no issues now. That's it.
  3. Happy for you. Still nothing on mine (6 months now) but posts like this are why I haven't deleted the app.
  4. Did the FTC report ask for anything specific? thinking of doing it
    1. @Anonymous just the basics: what happened, dates, the company. Took 10 min. I'd do it to have it on record, just don't expect a reply.
