I'm not handling this well and I don't know who else to tell

This isn't really a question. My illustration account (about 60k) got disabled 12 days ago. I've done the appeal. I've done the selfie. I've read every thread here. It's not even the money (ok it's partly the money). It's that I spent 7 years building that and it was the only place most people ever saw my work. I keep opening the app out of habit and seeing the grey screen. I haven't drawn anything since. My friends are supportive but they don't really get it, they say 'it's just instagram'. Sorry for the downer post. I just needed to say it somewhere people would understand.

  1. It's not 'just instagram' when its your work and your community. What you're feeling is grief and that's okay. I lost mine in March and the first few weeks were the worst. It does get lighter.
  2. Artist here too. Something that helped me: I emailed the people who'd bought prints from me (from my shop records) and started a simple newsletter. It was 400 people, not 60k, but they were the ones who actually cared. Your audience is more than an algorithm.
  3. Please try to draw something small, even if it's just for you. And if it gets really heavy, talk to someone: a friend, your doctor, a helpline. This stuff hits mental health harder than people think. You're not alone here.
  4. thank you all. drew a terrible little frog yesterday. it's a start.
