Hat eigentlich schon mal jemand wegen eines deaktivierten Kontos eine Klage gegen Meta eingereicht?

Titel automatisch übersetzt von Google ÜbersetzerOriginaltitel: Anyone actually done small claims against Meta over a disabled account?

I run a small ceramics studio and IG was basically my storefront. Disabled since April for 'account integrity', every appeal bounced back within the hour. I keep reading about people filing in small claims and Meta either settling or restoring before the hearing. Has anyone here actually done it? How did you serve them, what did you ask for? I'm in Oregon. Also I read something about arbitration in the terms, does that kill the whole idea?

You can't sue them, the terms force arbitration. waste of time.

@Anonymous I don't think that's right as a blanket statement. It depends on which service's terms and which version, and small claims is often handled differently. Read the current Instagram terms yourself (the disputes part), don't trust any of us on it. And there was a NH cafe owner who won a small claims case against Meta back in 2024, so it's at least been done.

Thanks Will. Reading them now. Looks like they treat consumers differently from business use?

Yeah and that could matter for you since it's a studio account. I read that Canadian courts threw out a couple of cases because the Instagram account was used for business. Different country, but worth thinking about. If real money is on the line, maybe a one-off consult with a local attorney just to go over the terms with you.

Following. Thinking about the same thing in California.
