Gehackt, E-Mail-Adresse und Telefonnummer geändert, und jetzt wegen „Identitätsdiebstahls“ gesperrt. Ist instagram.com/hacked überhaupt noch zu gebrauchen?

Titel automatisch übersetzt von Google ÜbersetzerOriginaltitel: Hacked, email + phone changed, and now it's disabled for 'impersonation'. Is instagram.com/hacked actually any use?

Woke up Tuesday to 3 emails from Instagram (the real address, I checked) saying my email had been changed, then my phone number, then a new login from a city I've never been to. By the time I'd made a cup of tea I couldn't get in. Now when I try to log in with my username it says the account is disabled for pretending to be someone else??? The only person it was pretending to be was ME. So far I've changed my Gmail password and finally put 2FA on it (should've done that years ago), then went to instagram.com/hacked, picked 'my email or phone number was changed' and did the video selfie it asked for. Got an email saying they'd review it and that's where I am. Anyone in the UK been through the hacked route when the account is ALSO disabled? Does the hacked flow even work in that case or do I have to appeal the disable separately? Getting conflicting info everywhere.

Look in your inbox AND spam for the email about the email change. There's usually a link in it to revert the change / secure your account. As far as I know it only works for a limited time so do it now if it's there.

@Anonymous found it and clicked it, but it just took me to the disabled page. At least I tried. Thanks though.

Hacked + disabled together is a nightmare. When mine went the hacker had posted crypto 'investment' stories which is what got it flagged. For me the hacked flow + selfie is what eventually worked, the normal appeal on the disable did nothing. Took about 2 weeks. Hang in there

also if anyone messages you saying they can get it back for a fee, they cant. i got like 15 of those within a day of posting about mine. block them all

UPDATE: it's back!! Got an email last night asking me to set a new password, so the selfie must have gone through. All my posts are still there. Turns out the hacker had changed my name and bio to some fake brand thing, which I'm guessing is where 'impersonation' came from. Authenticator app 2FA is now on and the backup codes are in my password manager. Thanks everyone x

Brilliant news. Last thing: go to Accounts Center and check where you're logged in, log out anything you don't recognise, and double check the email and phone on the account are yours.
