Ich bin wegen „sexueller Ausbeutung von Kindern“ behindert und arbeite als Grundschullehrerin (2. Klasse). Mir ist schlecht.

I don't even know how to write this. Tonight I opened Instagram, got logged out, and then a screen saying my account was disabled because it doesn't follow our Community Standards on child sexual exploitation, abuse and nudity. I teach 2nd grade. My account is private, maybe 340 followers, mostly family and other teachers. The only kid photos on there are my own two at the beach and some birthday parties, everyone fully clothed. I never post my students, our district doesnt even allow it. I hit 'Disagree with decision' and less than 10 minutes later it said the account is permanently disabled and I can't request another review. My Facebook still works for now (they're linked in Accounts Center so I'm scared to touch anything). The notice also had a line about how they may report it to NCMEC?? I don't think I'm sleeping tonight. What if this shows up on a background check? What if a parent hears about it? Has anyone been through this with the CSE reason specifically? What did you do? Please be honest even if it's bad news.

Same reason here in August, I'm a dad who posts my kids soccer games. It's horrible but you are NOT alone, there are a lot of us. Breathe. From everything I've read this is the automated system, not a person who looked at your photos and decided something about you.

The NCMEC line seems to be standard wording, a lot of people got the exact same notice. It doesn't mean police are coming. I haven't seen a single person in these threads say anyone contacted them.

thank you both. I keep re-reading it. Is there anything I should do tonight or should I just stop touching it?

Practical stuff for today: 1. Screenshot every screen of the notice with the date visible. 2. Save any emails from Meta (check spam) and check the sender address is really Meta. 3. Write a timeline while it's fresh: when you got logged out, when you appealed, when the rejection came. 4. Do NOT make a new Instagram. It gets linked and then you have 'account integrity' on top of everything. 5. Download your Facebook data now (Accounts Center > Your information and permissions > Download your information) in case it goes too. Linked accounts sometimes fall together.

Did the FB download, took about an hour to be ready. Screenshotted everything. Thank you deb, that list helped me stop spiraling.

Teacher here too (HS chemistry). Got hit in July, still gone. I told my principal myself just so it wasn't a surprise, she said she'd seen these bans on the news and didn't think twice. Might be worth getting ahead of it if it's eating at you.

If anyone messages you offering to 'restore' it for a fee, block them. They target exactly this kind of post. I lost $200 to one in September, learn from my mistake

@Anonymous yes!! two 'recovery specialists' already sent me friend requests on FB. Blocked. So sorry that happened to you.

No update yet. I filed a complaint with our state AG and an FTC report just to have it documented, and signed the petition. Will post if anything happens.
