Draft · effective date to be set
These terms are a draft. When the effective date is set, this label will be updated and announced on the site.
Terms of use
1. Purpose
These terms set out the conditions for using Account Ban Help (“the site”) and the rights and obligations of the site’s operator (“the operator”) and its users. The site is free of charge.
2. Contact
Questions about the site, reports of infringed rights and requests about personal information go to the contact email (metaaccountbanhelp@proton.me).
3. How the site works
- There are no member accounts. Anyone can read the site, and anyone can post, comment or report by choosing a nickname and a password.
- With the password you chose, you can edit or delete your post, or delete your comment. Passwords are stored only in a form that cannot be turned back, so not even the operator can tell you yours; keeping it is your responsibility.
- Nicknames that could be mistaken for the operator or the admin, an official Meta account, or another person or organisation cannot be used.
- Children under 14 must not post, comment or report.
- To prevent flooding, the number of posts, comments and reports from one connection (by IP address), and the number of wrong passwords, are limited.
4. Posts
- You keep the copyright in the posts and comments you write (“posts”).
- You give the site a free permission to store your posts and display them publicly (including in lists and previews) as far as needed to run the site. This permission ends when the post is deleted.
- Posts are shown in the language they were written in; readers can also use their browser’s translate feature. Where automatic translation is turned on, the site sends the title of a post to Google Cloud Translation when the post is published or its title is changed, translates it into the site’s other languages, shows the translations in lists and on the post labelled as machine translations, and keeps them until the title is changed or the post is deleted. By posting, you allow the site to make and display translations of your titles in this way. Machine translations can be wrong; the original is what counts. If the site wants to publish a translation of your post in any other way, it will ask for your consent first.
- You are responsible for what you post.
5. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- post other people’s personal information (real names, contact details, addresses, account details);
- post login codes, passwords or ID documents, including your own;
- advertise paid ‘account recovery’ services;
- recommend or promote a particular recovery service, or present a recovery as the result of such a service;
- write reviews for a reward or on someone else’s behalf;
- post scams, harassment, hate speech or illegal content;
- impersonate other people or organisations (including Meta staff or the site’s admin);
- try to find out other people’s post passwords, disrupt the site (for example with automated mass posting), or otherwise break the law.
6. Moderation
- Anyone can report posts that break these terms or the law.
- A post or comment with 7 or more unresolved reports from at least five different networks (IP address ranges) is hidden automatically until the admin reviews it. Posts by the admin are not hidden automatically; the admin reviews those reports directly.
- The admin may hide or remove posts that break these terms or the law.
- Removal requests from people whose rights are affected, and temporary blocking, follow Article 44-2 of Korea’s Network Act and the About & rules page.
7. No legal advice
Information on the site (such as What’s happening and the recovery guide) and users’ posts are general information, not legal advice. For your own case, consult a qualified professional in your country.
8. Changes to and suspension of the service
The operator may change or suspend the site’s content and features. If the site is closed down, this will be announced on the site in advance.
9. Limitation of liability
- The operator tries to keep the information on the site accurate but does not guarantee that it is complete or that any particular result, such as getting an account back, will follow.
- To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for users’ posts, disputes between users, or the results of using information from the site. This does not apply to damage caused by the operator’s intent or gross negligence.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
- The Seoul Central District Court has jurisdiction at first instance over disputes about use of the site.
- This does not limit any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the laws of the country where you live, or any jurisdiction the law gives you.
11. Changes to these terms
Changes will be announced on the site at least 7 days before they take effect, or 30 days before for changes that are unfavourable to users.
Effective date
The effective date of these terms has not been set yet (draft).
