J'ai 34 ans et Instagram pense que j'ai moins de 16 ans, lol. Quelqu'un a déjà vérifié mon âge ?

Since the under 16 thing kicked in on Wednesday I keep getting a banner saying they think I might be under 16 and I need to confirm my age or the account will be suspended. I'm 34. I have a mortgage and a bad knee. Options are upload ID or do a video selfie for age estimation. Bit iffy about sending my licence to Meta tbh. Has anyone done the selfie one, does it actually work if you look young-ish? Or is it better to just do the ID and get it over with

Did the video one yesterday, took maybe 30 seconds and it said confirmed about 10 min later. Good light, no cap. My sister (24, looks about 16) failed it and had to do ID though.

@tdawg88 wouldn't. suddenly logging in from another country is exactly the kind of thing that gets you a security check, and I'm pretty sure once it's asked for your age it doesn't just go away. do the selfie and be done with it

fwiw when I did ID the screen said it gets checked and deleted afterwards. no idea if that's 100% true but it went through within the hour and I haven't had any issues since

For anyone landing here from google: my 15yo's account got removed (fair enough, that's the law now) but my 17yo got flagged too. Her selfie said under 16, then she did ID and it went through. So if the selfie fails don't panic, ID is the backup.
