[RÉSOLU] Compte piraté et désactivé : la procédure officielle pour les comptes piratés a fonctionné pour moi (étapes exactes).

Titre traduit automatiquement par Google TraductionTitre original: [SOLVED] Hacked + disabled: the official hacked-account flow actually worked for me (exact steps)

Writing this up because the threads I found while panicking were all scams or dead ends. What happened: on Oct 9 I clicked a DM that said 'copyright violation, your account will be deleted in 24 hours', made to look like Meta Business Support. Fake login page. I know. Within an hour they'd changed my email and phone, and two days later the account was disabled, I assume for whatever they posted. What worked for me: 1. Secured my email first (new password, 2FA on the email account itself). 2. Typed instagram.com/hacked into the browser myself. Didn't click any link. 3. Picked 'my account was hacked' and entered my ORIGINAL email. It sent a code there. 4. It offered video selfie verification. Did it once, on my usual phone, in daylight, no cap. 5. Waited. Did not resubmit. 6. Oct 20: email from Instagram saying I could log in again. Hacker's posts were gone, their email was removed. 11 days total. What I think helped: my profile had lots of clear photos of my face, and I did the selfie on a phone I'd used with the account for years. After: authenticator app 2FA, backup codes printed, removed every logged-in device I didn't recognize. And please, don't click those 'your account will be deleted' DMs.

This is the post I'm going to link people to from now on. Thank you for the clear steps.

Did it ask for ID too or just the selfie?

@Anonymous just the selfie for me. I've seen others get asked for ID as well, seems to vary.
