Account Ban Help

Germany

Germany’s Digital Services Coordinator, the Bundesnetzagentur, takes DSA complaints about unexplained account blocks but cannot unblock accounts itself; it reportedly received more than 2,000 formal complaints in 2025. The Federal Court of Justice ruled in 2021 (III ZR 179/20 and III ZR 192/20) that a platform must tell users the reason and give them a chance to respond before blocking an account. Two of the EU’s certified out-of-court bodies, User Rights and Platform Control, are based in Germany.
